Quick update

I had another doctors appointment today, and again, the same old routine with the exception of some blood work and the strep test. I only gained one pound since my last visit which was three weeks ago. So as of today, I have gained a total of 16 pounds through this whole pregnancy. She asked if I was eating ok, and I told her all the time. Jayson will agree, he thinks I eat way more that he does. I guess Connor is taking all the food & nutrients that I consume. My belly measured 34, so I am off by about 3 inches according to the number of weeks that I am, although, my belly grew 2 inches in the last three weeks. She told me that I am in the 35 percentile. We listened to Connor's heart beat and it recorded at 132 beats. She felt around and said that his head was very low and asked if I was having contractions. I told her only Braxton Hicks contractions, but nothing that was causing any pain. I asked if she was going to check me for any dialiation, and she told me that she would wait until next week, since I was not having contractions. Not what I wanted to hear, I was hoping to know if I was dialated any. So I will be seeing her every week from now to delivery. I did ask her, that if I make it to my due date, how long will she let me go, and she said a whole week. So, since my due date is on a Friday, I asked her, so you will induce me the next Monday (after the weekend) and she said no, she would wait a whole week and do it on the following Monday which means 10 days after my due date. I guess I made some kind of face and she asked, you don't want to wait that long? I told her no!! I don't want to end up having a big baby. She told me that we would talk about it when we get closer to the date. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed when I walked out of there today. I got answers that I did not want to hear.

  1. Girl you are not going to have a big baby and your due date can be off by up to two weeks (know you don't want to hear this but) you don't want to rush nature. You want healthy and home not white and whimmpy boy!! It will be here soon and then you will wonder how it got here so fast

  3. We can't wait for Connor to arrive. Hopefully next week Dr. Joykutty will have some news for you. Rest up these next few weeks, sleep as much as you can. Sleep late any chance you have time to. It will be a long time until you get to sleep late once Connor arrives, but it is ALL worth it! So excited, I'm gonna be an Aunt soon and you're gonna be a Mommy!

  4. Traci,
I don't think walking is going to work. I have been working out way before I was pregnant and haven't stopped yet. If I can't make it to my class, I usually walk in the neighborhood.

  7. Hang in there, Jenn. You know there are other things you could try to induce labor - spicy foods, SEX, etc - hahaha! Just what you wanna hear, huh? I know it's not fun getting those kind of answers when you go in for an appt - been there, done that! Just a few more weeks of "alone" time ;) JZ

  8. Hang in there...sometimes due dates are way off and you hate to rush nature since those last few weeks are really beneficial. I say let Connor pick his own b-day! -Jenna L.

  9. So sorry to hear about the news from the Doc. Just glad to hear that the little boy is doing well! Sounds like you won't have much weight to lose once little Connor comes out. This is very exciting! Can't wait to meet him!
