Lil Salties

This past weekend the kids participated in Lil Salties and had the best time of their lives - that is probably because they didn't have to sit and fish the whole time. We actually went to Matagorda and found a spot on the beach where the river comes in and let the kids play in the water and sand while their daddy's fished. Or in our case - we just set out lines and waited for the pole to bend!

The Joines family was there as well, but a little further down and found 3 star fish, and gave one to us

Just when we didn't think we would have a fish to weigh in, our pole started bending and I ran to get it and started reeling. It didn't feel like anything was on it, until it got almost to the shore line and I could see there was a small fish on the end. So I called Connor over to reel it in and Jayson was down the beach talking to other people. Well we ended up with a whiting which is there is not size limit on them. At the time, Connor was reeling in, Jeff and Juliann reeled in a gaftop.

Here all the kids were picking up and holding Connors little fish. 

Connor weighed in at 0.87 lbs

They were super proud of their news rods and trophys

They had such a fun and busy morning, that it didn't take them long to fall asleep with their trophys in hands
