Over the past few months Connor has wanted us to lay with him for awhile when goes to sleep. At first, we would lay with him maybe 5 minutes and then leave and just check on him until he fell asleep. Well, then it turned into staying in his bed until he feel asleep. If you tried leaving before he was asleep, he would start crying and would wake Luke up. We didn't want that to happen, so we would stay with him. So after laying in his bed for nearly an hour one night, I decided we need to put a stop to this. He is 3 and about to start pre-school.....he was too big for us having to lay with him nightly.
Connor had been reading books about fire trucks over the summer and always wants me to drive by the fire station so he can see the trucks. So I printed off a star chart and told him that if he went to sleep by himself every night for 8 nights in a row that we would take him to the fire station. Well he accomplished that task with no problem, and every morning he would run into my room and shout that he slept all by himself and needed his star. So yesterday, I made arrangements with Uncle Clint to take him to see the fire trucks.
He was in heaven....Look at that grin
Luke couldn't have been left out, he was just as amazed as Connor
Had to try on the helmet. He wanted to take it home with him
We are still earning stars each night and now the goal is to see a Ricebird football game.

Well, he better earn a trip to see the Ricebirds for sure! :-)
ReplyDeleteI want to take E to the fire station too! So fun!
