Luke gets Baptized

Luke was baptized last night after the 5:00 mass at St. Phillip Catholic Church with Father Gary. He had a great turn out of family and friends to witness his first sacrament received in the church. He wore the same outfit as Connor did.

Lucky number 10

Luke turned 10 weeks old today and this must be his lucky number, or mine. Last night Luke slept through the night, meaning he made it all the way to my alarm clock. We put him down at 9:30 and he slept until 5:00 this morning. It was a wonderful feeling not having to get up at 3:00 to feed, and go back to sleep for an hour. Lets hope this continues. Also, today he rolled over for the first time, but only did it once. Yesterday during tummy time, he got close to rolling over, but never did.

We Survived

Monday was my first day back to work and Luke's first day with Mrs. Becky. I managed to get both kids up and dressed and out the door a little before 7:00 a.m. The first stop was to drop off Luke, which was something new for Connor. The entire time I drove to Mrs. Becky's, I was explaining to Connor that we were taking Luke to Mrs. Becky for the day just like he goes to Mrs. Sue. All was good, until I drove in the drive way and told Connor that I was taking Luke in and that I would be back and to tell Luke bye bye. He started crying, saying "My Luke, My Luke" That just broke my heart, which led me into tears. So I took Luke in and talked to Becky for a little bit and when I got back to the truck, Connor wasn't crying anymore, but asked, "where's Luke?" I told him that that Luke was staying here, and we would pick him up this afternoon. I then told him, we were going to Mrs. Sue's next and he started saying, "eat, eat." That boy loves to eat! When I picked up Connor, the first thing he asked me was, "where's Luke?" I said he is in the truck. As soon as I opened the door, he was looking for Luke and calling, Luke, Luke.

My first day back was great. The kids were so good and quiet. Their actions and attitudes reminded me of the first day of school. I think I shocked them that I was finally back, that they were speechless. The daily routine fell back into place, as it was before I left. I was so proud of my students. They told me, don't leave anymore!! Ha - that was a great feeling!

Luke 2 Months & Connor 20 Months

Luke had his 2 month appointment on Friday with his first round of shots, and recovered pretty quickly after each prick. Here are his stats: Weight 9.6 (25%) Height 22 in (25%) and Head 13 1/4in

At 2 months, Luke is

*eating 3 1/2 - 4 oz every 3 1/2 - 4 hours

*wakes up one time at night for feeding

*able to hold head up for a long period of time

*smiling & cooing

*just started wearing size 1 diapers

*just started wearing 0-3 clothing

Luke is still strictly a BF baby, and I am going to try to continue BF/pumping with me returning to work tomorrow. We will see how long I will be able keep this up, but I would like to continue until summer. Luke will be going to Mrs, Becky 3 days a week and to Nanna's 2 days a week, while Connor continues to attend Mrs. Sue's. So I will be making 2 stops in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Hopefully by August, they will be able to attend the same sitter. I am NOT ready to return to work, but my students are so ready for me to return. I have loved every moment staying at home with Luke and having dinner ready before Connor and Jayson got home.

Having a baby around, it seems like Connor has grown up so much in the last 2 months. Can't believe he is already 20 months.He loves to help out so much with Luke, especially at bath time. After Connor's bath is always Luke's bath. He will get me his diaper, sleeper, and tub ready for Luke. Also, he always wants to give Luke his paci, but I hate that he touches all over the nipple. He loves his little brother and always wants to hold "my Luke."

We have been somewhat potty training Connor. He will tell us poo poo in potty when he thinks he needs to go, which is usually after dinner time. We put him on the big potty and read Elmo goes Potty to him. We have only succeed once with him actually poo pooing in the potty. Usually he will sit on it for a while and then say done, and about 10 min later he is squatting poo pooing. So he knows what is happening, it is just going to take some time to get this accomplished. He has been talking up a storm, repeating every thing you say, and mimicking your actions.

I think we have already entered the terrible twos. He throws fits when he doesn't get his way and everything is MINE. He has also been hitting alot, which has put him in time out quite a bit these days. Some of it, I think is acting out because he is seeking attention with Luke here.

Clean Up

The other day after Connor finished reading the news paper, he thought is was fun to shred it up. I told Connor that he made a mess and that we needed to clean it up, and started singing the clean up song. He ran and got his vacuum cleaner and started to clean up his mess, only if it really worked.

He loves this vacuum, but hates the real thing!

We haven't been doing much around here, I am going to enjoy my last week off before returning back to school next Monday. Connor has been fighting another ear infection and Luke had just been relaxing, enjoying his time with me before going to Mrs. Becky Monday. Yes, that means I will be making two stops in the morning and afternoon, dropping off and picking up my kiddos. Hopefully come August, they can both go to the same sitter. Luke is 6 weeks

Luke turned 6 weeks old yesterday. He is finally overcoming his nasty cold, but has been such a great baby even during his sickness. We went to the doctor on Wednesday to check his lungs to make sure nothing was going on with that, and he weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 6 oz. He has pretty much put on a pound a week since his 2 week appointment. I am sure he would have weighed more, but I had a hard time getting him to eat while he was sick. He is super strong, always pushing away from you and holding his head up long periods of time. He is still getting up twice during the night to feed. We haven't swaddled him in about a week and half, because he has been sleeping in his bouncer due to his congestion, but I think tonight we may start to swaddle him again, hoping he will start sleeping longer. He is cooing and smiling, which just makes your day!

Happy New Year

Jayson and I spent our New Years Eve at home with two sick little boys. Connor had actually been fighting a cold for a month which ended up with an ear infection,and three trips to the doctor and three different antibiotics later, he finally started feeling like himself New Years Day. Then Luke got the crud on Wednesday before New Years, with the awful cough, congestion, runny nose, and decreased appetite. I took him into the doctor on Wednesday, and she said his chest and ears looked good, but not much I could do, except for him to sleep with a humidifier and spray saline solution in his nose and suction it out. I have become quite the pro with that little suction! Friday night was rough with Luke. Jayson and I took turns sleeping in the recliner with him to keep him up so he could breathe, and waking him up every 3 hours to make him eat something. So we cooked us some fish New Years Eve night and had a glass of wine, but we were asleep by 10:00, thinking we were going to have another night like the one before. We put Luke in his bouncer chair to sleep and I woke up around 3:00 needing to pump and realized that Luke had just slept 6 hours. Man did that feel good, but I was worried about him getting dehydrated, that I woke him up to feed and he ate a little, but really had no interest. So I put him back down and he slept another 6 hours before I woke up again and realized how long he slept without eating.

As of last night, I think he is starting to feel better, he is not congested anymore, but still has that awful cough with all the mucus in his chest. Today was the first day he actually woke up on his own wanting to eat and the first time I have been able to nurse him since last Wednesday. I choose to feed him out of a bottle while he was so congested and so I could see how much he was eating. We are going back to the doctor tomorrow just to check out his lungs to make sure everything is ok. Sorry no pics in this post, will update soon with Luke's 6 weeks post.

Since Connor has received his train set from Christmas, that is about all he wants to play with. We put it in his room due to the size of it, so when getting him out of bed or putting him down, has been a challenge. He thinks we are going in his room to play, instead of to bed. He will not play in his room by himself either, so he will bring you a train and hand it to you saying "Choo Choo" which means, come play with me. Also, he received a tool work bench and is attached to the screw driver that came with it, so he walks around the house with a choo-choo in one hand and the screw driver in the other. He tries to fix everything with his screwdriver!

We started Christmas morning out with opening the gifts from Santa. We actually woke Connor up around 9:00 a.m. because we were so excited to see the joy on Connor's face and watch him rip through his gifts. Well that wasn't so much the case. He was still suffering from a runny nose and congestion that he didn't feel good, but made the best of it. He actually lost interest of opening gifts at one point, and we had to unwrap the rest of them.

After opening gifts, we headed back to El Campo to have the Zbitowsky Christmas at NaNa and Pops house. Again we enjoyed a great turkey and dressing dinner and the company of aunts, uncles, and cousins. We did play some Bingo, but we didn't win anything. Then all the kiddos opened gifts, but unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures.

We had a great Christmas, and the boys are spoiled by all the gifts they received and are enjoying them.

Luke is 1 month

It is hard to believe that Luke is already a month old! He has been a great baby the first month, and hopefully that will continue. He spends most of his day sleeping and is usually up for a 4 - 5 hour stretch through out the day. He has gotten better about bath time, only fussing when I get him out due to the change in temperature. He eats every 3-4 hours and does the same at night. He has definitely has started to fill out everywhere, but especially in his cheeks., and now fits in his newborn clothes. Now when I feed I have to use the boppy to rest my arm on, because he is finally putting on the weight! Connor continues to be a big help with him, wanting to hold him, hold the bottle when feeding, giving him his paci, and of course the endless kisses he gives.

Yesterday we went to visit Santa at MeMe's bank. We have been talking up Santa at home hoping that Connor would not fear the jolly ol man. He loves Santa and always points him out at home or where ever he may see a Santa. So we walked in the bank and he spotted him right away, and was all excited about it. He even touched him and gave him a high five, but would not have anything to do with sitting on his lap.

Luke on the other hand, had no idea of what was going on. He really liked Santa (this year anyway)

2 Weeks

Yesterday Luke turned two weeks and we went for his check up. Everything looks great and he only has gained 5 oz since leaving the hospital. That doesn't seem like a lot, but I feel like all he does is eat. He has been eating every 3 hours and seems to be pretty satisfied with that. I am not sure how much he is eating each time, because I have not given him milk out of a bottle, except for once. I can tell that he is starting to fill out and starting to fit in the new born clothes a little better, although some are still big on him. Also, he had his heel pricked not just once, but twice. On the first prick, the nurse was not even able to fill in one circle on the screener card, so she had another nurse come in and help her with the second prick and managed to get enough blood to fill in the remaining circles.

A visit from St.Nick

Yesterday, St. Nick stopped by during the day to drop off some goodies for the kids. Connor spotted the gifts right away when he walked in the door, but we had to wait until Dad got home. After we ate dinner, Connor ran to his gift and started to open it. First, he got a new outfit that he wasn't to thrilled about.

Luke also received a matching outfit to Connor and a turtle pillow pet to carry out his theme in his room. Connor opened his present for him since he was sleeping, but we managed to get a picture with him and the turtle.

and of course, Bella could not be left out, she got an ice cream toy.

Once Bella got her gift and was chewing on it for a few seconds and making all the squeaky noises, Connor threw a fit wanting Bella's toy. We weren't sure of what he really wanted a first, because this fit consisting of tears, screaming, throwing his self down on the ground that lasted nearly 30 minutes, before we figured out that he wanted Bella's toy. We had another dog toy that made the same sounds and gave to Connor, but he did not want that one, he wanted the ice cream cone that Bella had been chewing on. So we took it away from Bella and gave it to him, and the fit stopped immediately! Then he acted like he was licking the ice cream cone, and we told him no, that was yucky and then the tears started again. So I got him a real ice cream out of the freezer and let him eat it. Then we were happy! What you do just to get some peace and quiet!

Holiday Express Train

Last Saturday when we got home from the hospital, Jayson, Connor, and PaPa attended the Holiday Express Train with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Shay, and the girls. After waiting about 45 minutes in line, they finally made it to the train. Thanks to Uncle Jeff for getting Connor a sucker to pacify the time away. Connor absolutely loved the train and all the trains inside, but did not give Santa the time of day. Jayson put Connor on Santa's lap, and when he turned around to see who's lap he was sitting on, Connor jumped off. He was so quick that no one was able to snap a picture. A special shout goes out to PaPa for taking all the great pictures and helping with Connor.

1 Week Old

It is hard to believe that Luke is already a week old. So far, he has been a wonderful baby, only fusses when he is hungry, cold, or getting a diaper change. It is hard to believe that he is so small, that the newborn clothes are so big on him. He is starting to fill them out since we have been home from the hospital though. Within the last two days, he has become more alert. Before that, you only saw his eyes for a short period of time. He is starting to stay awake for an hour to two hours at a time.

Mom and I gave Luke his first bath the other day. This boy does not like to be cold or naked. He cried just about the entire time he was taking his bath. His chin was just a shivering from being cold. We gave him his bath as fast as we could, but anytime he takes a bath or changes a diaper, he cries. Other than that, Luke has been a good baby, just hates to be cold!!

Proud Big Brother/Big Helper

Connor has been doing pretty good knowing that Luke is home for good. Every morning he wants to know where Luke is, or when he comes home from the sitter, he wants to know where Luke is. He will go over to him and either pat him or give him a kiss. We have not let Connor get to close though, because he has been fighting a cold with a running nose, cough and congestion, just in time for Luke's arrival. Anytime I change Luke's diaper or feed him, he has to be right there wanting to know what is going on. Connor does not like when Luke cries, because he starts getting upset and yells Mommy, Mommy, like what is wrong with him. For the most part, Connor has adjusted well with Luke, but there has been some times that he acts out, wanting attention. We even had to put him in time out the other day for not listening and doing things he knows he is not suppose to do. Can you blame him though? He has all the attention for 18 months, and then all of a sudden, he is having to share the attention. We try to give him all of our attention, because majority of the time Luke is sleeping, so we entertain Connor as much as we can and try to include him with everything we do with Luke.

Connor has also become a huge helper! He loves to help with dinner time, or anytime we eat. He always wants ketchup with everything, so he gets it out of the fridge and takes it to the table, along with napkins, drinks, and forks. He helps me put clothes in the washer, dryer, and even "folds" them, and then helps me put them away. Oh, and he gets very upset if you don't let him help. Every morning, we have had a routine, where he will give Bella her bone, and then he opens the garage door, turns out the light, and gets the paper off the driveway and throws it in the trash. He is just growing up way to fast!

Who would have thought that not long after I wrote my last post Wednesday night, I would be on my way to the hospital. I layed down about 9:45 Wednesday night, when I started to feel contractions. So I started timing them, every 10 -15 minutes for about an hour. As nervous as I was, I just wasn't too sure if I should call the doctor or not. I finally talked myself into it, and woke up Jayson telling him that I was going to call the doctor. The doctor told me to go ahead and make my way to the hospital. So Jayson called my mom and asked her to come to the house and stay with Connor since he was already sleeping. So about 11:00, we hit the road to Sugar Land. Once we got the the hospital, they put me in the triage room to check vitals and hooked me up the the machine to time my contractions. The nurse told us that they would keep us there for an hour monitoring the contractions, and then the doctor would make a decision if I would stay or go back home. Not even 30 minutes there, the nurse came back in and said that I would be staying and that I would be placed in a delivery room for the night. By this time, my contractions were happening about every 5 minutes and I was still dilated to a 4. About 2:00 a.m. I received my epidural and they told me that if nothing happened by 5:00 a.m. they would induce me. So 5:00 a.m. rolled around and they started my potosin and by 8:30 I started to push. I pushed for close to an hour before Luke was born. I had no complications with Luke as I did with Connor, so this delivery was way different for me. I was actually able to hold my baby right after delivery, where with Connor, they took him for monitoring and wasn't able to hold him for 4 hours. Believe it or not, Jayson actually cut the cord! I was so surprised that he did that, we didn't even get a picture. So we proudly introduce ...

I had another doctor appointment today and I am now dilated to a 4. We went ahead and scheduled an induction date for Monday if Luke doesn't make his appearance before then. She kind of sounded surprised that I haven't had him yet. So after my appointment, I was able to finish my Christmas shopping with contractions, but not close enough for anything to happen. So now the waiting begins, and I am super nervous that once I do start contracting regularly, that I may not make it to the hospital, and I think Jayson is even more nervous than me! Well the good news is that my doctor is pretty much on call all weekend long. We will keep everyone posted if anything happens. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

School Diaper Shower

On Wednesday the 5th grade teachers hosted a diaper shower for me at school. Luke was showered with so many gifts, especially diapers, but he did receive some other goodies like blankets, sleepers, and clothes. Between the diapers we received at my school shower and from my bunco group, we have a little over 1500 diapers of all sizes! What a blessing to have such wonderful people in our lives to help us out.

Making Progress

Yesterday, I had my last ultrasound, and everything looked great. Luke is estimated to weigh 6lbs 7oz as of now (give or take a pound) and he is in position - head ALL the way down. Then after my ultrasound, I had another check up appointment with my doctor. I am now dilated to a 3 and about 70% effaced. So in a week, I went from a 1 to a 3, and 50 to 70 % effaced. I am not real sure that I will make it to my due date of December 4. She told me that we can schedule an induction date next week when I go back, because they cannot schedule inductions before 38 weeks. She asked if I was having contractions, and I told her no, but honestly, I forgot what contractions really feel like. I have had the tightness of my tummy, but not real sure you would consider that a contraction or not. I have not had any real painful (menstrual like cramps) contractions for sure. I do remember those contractions!! I have also broke out with pimples on my face this week, and I think that is a sign of something. The week I had Connor, my face did the same thing. Only time will tell. I think Jayson is getting a little nervous, because he packed his bag last night, which made me realized, I guess I better get one packed as well.

Full Term and Nesting

Today Luke is officially full term at 37 weeks. It is amazing that in 3 weeks or less, we will be a family of four! At last weeks appointmentt, my doctor went ahead and checked me and said that I was already dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. I go again this week on Tuesday for my last ultrasound and to see my dr. to see his position and get an idea of what he weighs, and hopefully schedule an induction date if he doesn't come on his own.
I have definitely been nesting as well. This past week, I have been getting up an hour earlier than my alarm goes off and I just have all this energy. I told Jayson that I have to put this energy to use, because by the time I get home, I don't want to do anything. I feel good until about lunch time, then my left side and back start hurting. This weekend, Jayson and Connor went to Vienna to hunt and I stayed behind to teach Saturday school and clean. clean, clean the house. I was able to get so much stuff done with no one here to bother me, I even got my Christmas tree up and decorated this weekend. I can say that I am officially ready for Luke to welcome us at any time now. I even have everything ready at school for my substitute until the Christmas holidays.

Well I will have to say that the Savino family had a pretty successful weekend of hunting. See, usually no one shoots anything the first weekend, because they always think something bigger will come out, and then it ends up becoming the end of the season and still no deer. Well, I guess the guys were tired of hearing this, because they ended up with 3 bucks this weekend. Pops shot the first deer (11 pointer) at their place in Vienna on Saturday evening, and Clint shot a 9 pointer Sunday morning in Vienna. Jayson shot a 9 pointer as well Saturday evening at their place in Eagle Lake.

Trick or Treat

We started off Halloween at the house with the grandparents, Uncle Clint, Uncle Clay and Savannah, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Shay and the girls cooking hotdogs and opening gifts.Then it was off for some Trick or Treating. Connor absoutely loved going Trick or Treating! He first started off in the wagon, but after watching everyone else, he just wanted to run from house to house. (What a workout) He did such a great job this year and had a blast. By the end of the night, he was even saying trick or treat! I was so worried about him and his costume, but the costume didn't even phase him. Actually, when we took it off, he wanted it back on.

I had an appointment on Friday where I meet my new doctor, Dr. Diase. I was very impressed with her, and think I am really going to like her. She came in and knew all my past history and all about my delivery with Connor. We talked about what to expect with this delivery, if it would be the same as Connor's. For those of you who don't know, I had some complications with Connor, but was still able to deliver vaginally. She wants me to go in for one more ultrasound at 37 weeks to see how big Luke is and what kind of position he is in, and then we will decide on an induction date if he doesn't come on his own. I have one more appointment before I start going weekly. It is getting so close, but I am so ready!!

Halloween Carnival

Saturday we attended the St. Phillip Halloween carnival for a short period of time. We got there at a perect time, not many people, but by the time we left, it was booming. Connor didn't dress up in his monkey costume, or enter the costume contest, because I figured he would just pull at it the entire time. So we went to play the games, although there weren't many games for his age, he just played the same ones over and over.

through Halloween that is. We tried on his costume last night, and he was not a happy camper. He liked the outfit hanging on the hanger, but once we put it on, he kept pulling at it and whining. So I took him in front of the mirror to see himself, and he calmed down just a little, smiled at himself. but kept pulling at it. So, I don't know if we will have a monkey or not this year....

Luke's Room

We were finally able to get into Luke's room and get it together over the weekend. We are still missing some things, but for the most part, everything is done. Connor is still in his crib, and I plan on him staying in there until this summer, unless he starts to climb out of it. So with Connor still in his crib, we are borrowing Aunt Shay's crib she used for her girls, and so we had to get a dresser and shelf for his room. Here are a few pictures of his room.

Like Father, Like Son

Connor is obsessed with lawn mowers! He could watch someone mow all day long. Anytime he hears the noise, he stops what he is doing and has to find where that lawn mower noise is coming from. Connor has his own lawn mower and the other day while Jayson was mowing, he got his out and followed Jayson the entire time. At first, he kept his distance, but by the end, he was playing chicken with his daddy and his lawn mower.

A little remodeling

So we spent three weeks in the month of August with basically no kitchen. We had a contractor come to the house to give an estimate for granite and the estimate sounded great, so he measured our kitchen and told us he would be here the next week to install. So we decided we would get new appliances while we were doing this and go ahead and take the old ones out. Then the day came that he was suppose to show up and what do you know, he was a NO SHOW. Jayson called and he told us that his grandmother was very sick and that he was in San Antonio with her, but he would be her in a couple of days. Well a couple of days went buy and still a no show. He called and said that his grandmother passed away and it would be at least a week before he would show up. Ok, we were getting a little frustrated, because we had no stove and no microwave, and with a toddler, it is kind of hard to function without those two appliances. So finally they did show on Labor Day (that Monday) about 3:00 in the afternoon to demolish what was left of the kitchen. The next day, they did not show up until 6:30p.m. to install only one piece of granite and stayed until 11:30 that night. So they did come back the next day at 5:30 to finish installing the rest of the granite and again did not leave until 11:30 that night. Then the guy wanted to do out back splash and we told him NO, thinking to ourselves - thank god our granite is finally in, but leave!!! So we had Carpet Onc install our back splash after waiting about a week for all the supplies to come in, but at least we could count on them showing up. So this little remodel turned into a month from hell!

Pumkin Patch

Here we are at this years Pumpkin Patch. It was a lot tougher this year with a 16 month old versus last year when Connor was only 5 months. He was everywhere and I couldn't even get a picture of him smiling.

30 Weeks

I went into see my doctor yesterday for my 30 weeks appointment. After waiting for 2 hours to see her since she was delivering a baby, everything is still looking good. I gained 2 pounds, Luke's heart beat was 150 and my stomach is measuring at 29 inches. We talked about who I would start seeing and she did give me her recommendation, but told me to come see her in two weeks. I actually have to go back in a week for a venous doppler scan on my legs. I have discovered the ugliest varicose veins on the back of my calf and they burn so bad. So she then examined my legs and I have more on my thighs. UGH! She really isn't too worried about it, but since I was telling her that they hurt and burn so bad, she wants to have it checked out to make sure I don't have any blood clots. By the way, I discovered them on my 30th birthday, what a great birthday present - varicose veins! So there really is nothing you can do for them, but wear compression hose, but it is way too hot for that. I will just support my bare legs with veins and all. I guess after my delivery, I will think about having surgery to have them removed. Here we have it, a belly shot... 10 more weeks to go!!!

When you have dated someone for a period of time, people start to ask, "When are ya'll getting married?'

Then once your married, they ask,"When are ya'll having a baby?"

Then the next thing you know, you are pregnant and they ask, "Do you know what you are having?"

Then it is, "Do you have a name?"

Well, yes we finally have a name after nearly 10 weeks of knowing that we were blessed to have another boy!

16 Months

Happy 16 months to Connor

I could not image my life without this little monkey! He keeps us on our toes all the time! He is still into climbing and standing on everything. He is very inquisitive and tries to help you do everything. Most of the time, I feel that he is in the way, but I know he is learning and it is good for him to want to help. We usually have a bigger mess with him helping than me doing it on my own. He is still very attached to me and wants Mamma all the time. I am not too sure how he will handle baby brother when he arrives. He continues to add words to his vocabulary daily. He has been trying to feed himself with a spoon/fork at dinner, getting better, but, again another mess to clean up. He has also started throwing fits when he doesn't get his way. He screams, cries, and throws himself down hoping you will give in. We still only have 5 teeth, but he eats like a champ. There is nothing that this boy will pass up!

Oh Deer!

This evening we went out to Jayson's cousin Kyle's house to see his pet deer. He actually came upon the deer with a four wheeler back in April when it was just a baby and couldn't find the mother, so he took it in. He had been feeding the deer three times a day with a bottle and switched over to feed within the last week. The deer is very loving and let you come up to it and pet it. He stays in Kyle's fence yard and actually plays with his dog also.

28 Weeks....Some bad news

So I had my 28 week appointment and glucose testing today. Good news, I only gained 1 pound within the last month, so I am up to a total of 15 pounds. Everything else is looking great and the baby's heart beat was 140. Bad news, Dr. Joykutty told me today that she will not be here to delivery my baby. "WHAT???" I asked. She is having to move to Dallas unexpectedly to be with her family at the end of October. So I asked her, what do I do now? She referred me to a couple of doctors she would prefer, but for me to make that decision of who I want to take over at almost 30 weeks prego. So I go back to see her in two weeks and I guess that will be my last time to see her, because I feel that once I choose another doctor, I want to get to know them before my delivery date. I am so nervous, because if I have a delivery like Connors, I hope the doctor is as good of a surgeon as Joykutty was. It is so hard to start over when you have had a history with a doctor and put all the faith in them, and then they are gone. I don't think this would have bothered me as much if I was only about 10 weeks pregnant, so I would have time to establish a relationship with a doctor, but when I am 12 weeks away from due date and have to find someone new to trust, its heart breaking. I guess it really is no different if I have to end up delivering with a doctor that was on call. If any of you reading this wants to refer their doctor to me in the Sugar Land area, I am open for suggestions. With that said, here is a belly shot at 28 weeks. I had two people ask me how far I was, and when I told them that I am due at the beginning of December, their comments were, "Your going to be huge!" Thanks, just want I wanted to hear.

Labor Day Weekend

Thursday night, Jayson headed to the bay so his fishing team could "pre-fish" Friday morning before the annual Port Alto Fishing Tournament. They didn't have much luck, but a 26 inch red fish. Once I got out of school Friday, I picked Connor up and headed down to the bay. I believe the entire bay house was sleeping by 10:30 that evening since all the guys were getting up the next morning for the fishing tournament, and all the school teachers were exhausted from the first two weeks of school.

So Saturday morning, while the guys were out fishing, the kids had a blast playing in the pool. By lunch time, all the guys made it back. Dad's team which was him, Jeff, Lynn & Rob didn't end up with any fish. Jayson was with Clay, Billy, & Shawn. They did have 4 red fish and 1 trout to weigh in and actually weighed in the biggest red fish of the tournament which was 27 1/2 inches. So with that, they won the biggest red pot and the biggest species pot worth a total $654.00.

Sunday was extremely windy so we no one was able to take part in the annual regatta and point party. That evening we did get to enjoy Larry Joe Taylor live next door at the neighbors.

Another Bo-Bo

This morning we were on our way out the door for church when Connor was running out of the garage to the truck and tripped falling on the cement. He hit his knees first, then stomach, then face hard to where you heard him hit the cement. I knew before he even came up for a breath that this wouldn't be pretty. Jayson picked him up and he had a busted lip, inside and outside, and a scraped up knee. So we took him inside and cleaned up the blood, and gave them an ice pack for his lip and of course he didn't want it or even to touch his lip, so of course it started to swell. I didn't even notice the knee until I had put him in the car seat and he kept saying bo-bo. I thought he was talking about his lip, but no, so then I went inside to get a wet cloth and a bandaid to put on his knee. So on our way to church, he continued to sob that he had a bo-bo and kept pointing at his band-aid. So we sat in the very last row of church this morning, which we never do, because I just knew we would have to take him out of church due to him crying and not feeling good after this little accident. Actually, he was the best he has been in a while in church this morning. He just sat on my lap content and every now and then would look at his band-aid and say bo-bo in a sobbing voice. I guess we are at the age where we will have bo-bos all the time and you can not prevent them from happening.

Hard Work = Reward + Black Eye

Over the summer, Connor and I were busy reading books for the Library Reading Summer Program. If he read 40 books over the summer, he received tickets to an Astros game. So we loaded up with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Shay and the girls today to attend Connor's first Astros game. All the kids did great at the game, and even better, we didn't have anyone sitting next to us or even in front of us so we were able to spread out. Although Connor maybe sat in a chair for about a minute, I think he just enjoyed watching people go up and down the stairs, and of course all the chants and music.

And so Connor got a souvenir from the game today, his first black eye! He was walking in the aisle and tripped and fell and hit his eye on a cup holder. He actually handled it pretty good. He cried for a short period of time and that was it. He didn't freak out and scream. So I went and got his some ice to try to keep the swelling down, but he didn't like the coldness touching him.

15 months

Our little man turned 15 months yesterday. We went for his check up and he weighed 21 3/4lbs, but didn't get his length or head measurement. He was suppose to get 2 shots, but ended up with 3, because somehow we got behind on one of his shots, but he took them pretty well.

All I can say is that he LOVES to climb or stand on anything possible. I am forever telling him to sit down when he gets on something and then he loves to repeat you, but it sounds like he is saying sh*t, and all we can do is laugh but correct him in saying sit, so we have to watch what it said around him. He has also become very attached to his Shamu and carries it with him everywhere. He has added a few more words to his vocabulary like nite-nite, Mo for Elmo, Mu for Shamu, side for outside, Ops for Pops, MeMe, Pa for PaPa. I think his favorite word it EAT, which he is very good at and wants to eat all the time! It is amazing how much he understands at such a young age. He can see you do something just one time and will remember that weeks after.

Summer is coming to an end...

for me anyway. I go back to school next Tuesday, so I have been trying to make the best of these last few days with Connor. Yesterday we tagged along with Aunt Shay and the girls to Victoria, because the girls had a dentist appointment, but we went for the fun. First stop was Prasek's for breakfast, then on to the Children's Museum.

Then it was onto Chuck E Cheese for lunch and games

23 Weeks

Today I had my 23 week appointment and everything is looking great. The heart beat was 151 and I am measuring right on track. The weight gain however is insane. I have gained so much more weight with this baby than I did with Connor. I gained a total of 18 pounds with Connor and I am not far from that number at 23 weeks with the second one, and I have 17 more weeks to go! With that said, here is a belly shot at 23 weeks, (excuse the dryer behind me)

So I bought Connor a tooth brush and paste the other day and decided we probably need to start brushing his 5 teeth. The first time I tried it without any paste just to see if he would let me do it and he did. Then I put the paste on there and he really liked it. So after I brush his teeth, he takes the brush from me and does it himself, or just sucks on the bristles.

Splashway & Tractors

Yesterday we headed to Splashway to met Billy, Christy, Molly & Joey. We got there around 11:30, ate our sandwiches and then we headed to the water. I believe Connor enjoyed it so much more this time since Jayson was with me. Jayson would put Connor on the slide and I would catch him at the bottom. Connor was all smiles yesterday as long as we was sliding. We started on the small slides and then gradually graduated to some of the bigger slides, but didn't attempt the adult slides. I wasn't able to take many pictures, but here are the few I managed.

Then on our way home we stopped in Garwood so Connor could ride the tractor with Uncle Clay since they were cutting rice. Jayson said he absolutely loved it. His head was turning in all directions looking and pointing at all the tractors.

Yesterday was Connor's first day with Mrs. Sue, Connor's sitter that he will be attending from now until he starts school. Nanna kept him his first year while I worked, which was wonderful. I didn't have to worry about him, because I knew he was in good hands and was loved just as Jayson and I do for him. He had all of Nanna and Pops' attention and the drop ins from his uncle Clint and Clay to entertain him. Since I have been out for summer, he has been home with me. I have enjoyed every moment with him this summer, but he really became a mama's boy. I can't even leave a room without him chasing after me, hugging my legs and wanting me to pick him up. Cooking dinner has been a chore with him wanting me to hold him and interact with him. So this week, I decided to take him to the sitter to start getting comfortable with her and the other kids before I go back. Yesterday morning when we got there and he saw the other kids, he smiled and wanted down to play, but kept checking to see if I was still there. We talked for a while and then Mrs. Sue told me to ease out without him seeing me. I tried, but as he was playing, he was sitting in front of me with a hand on my foot making sure I was still there. As I slipped away, he turned around and the saddest face came upon him like he was about to bust into tears. I heard her say that they were going to play outside, so then I knew he would be ok, because his mind was off me and he loves the outdoors. When I went to pick him up, he was eating a second snack and then the came to me and gave me this big hug and then turned around to start playing with the other kids. I truly thinks he loves all the interaction and socialization with the other kids than being at home with me!

While he was gone yesterday, I went to school to work in my classroom and then went home for lunch. After eating lunch I sat on the couch for a little bit and thought to myself, what should I be doing? When Connor is home, I always thought I had so much to do, but didn't have the time to do. Now he is not here and I don't know what to do with myself. I was almost bored, so I went back to school to work.

This morning when we got to Mrs. Sue's house, he smiled when we walked in the door. There were two other boys already there so I put him down and he immediately started playing with them. Then he took off into the other room by him self when she keeps all the toys and started playing. That is a great feeling to know that he was already comfortable there after just one day. It made it so much easier to leave him there.
Mrs. Sue is wonderful and I am so happy he will be in good hands again!

The BIG Reveal

So Tuesday I had my ultrasound to find out the sex of baby #2 and everyone was calling or texting me to see what we were having, but we could not say anything until Wednesday. You see, my parents were at the bay on vacation and I wanted to do something special for them instead of just telling them over the phone. I apologize that this post is so late, because I have been at the bay with them since Wednesday and not around a computer to post any pictures.

So Tuesday evening when we got into EC, we went by Nanna & Pops to surprise them with the news. I made two cakes that morning, a blue one and a pink one (using food color) to use as our reveal. Here is the big reveal....

another boy!

They were both right, they thought we would have another boy. So Nanna and Pops couldn't say anything until the next day when we told MeMe and PaPa.

As soon as we got to the bay and unloaded, MeMe couldn't stand it any longer, she had to cut into the cake.

Both MeMe and PaPa guessed it would be a girl, but were wrong.

We are so happy to have two little boys to make our family!
We have narrowed down our name to two, but still debating on what we are going with.

20 weeks and 14 months

Today I am 20 weeks prego and we find out what we are having in two days! We are super excited about finding out who or what Connor's sibling will be. We have been discussing names and have come up with a girl name but no boy names. We can't seem to agree on anything, so we have put the name thing on hold until we find out what we are having. I have been feeling the flutters in my tummy for a couple of weeks now, and just love that feeling of them moving around. So right now, the baby weighs about 10 1/2 oz and is around

6 1/2 inches long, about the length of a banana. Here is a belly shot at 20 weeks

Today, Connor also turns 14 months. He is busier than ever keeping us on our toes. He is so much fun at this age! I am going to miss him when I have to go back to work!

Here is what he has been up to:

* No longer snaggle tooth, has 4 teeth. The bottom 2 and the top 2. The other top tooth finally broke the skin

* Loves to eat, especially fruit and grilled cheese

* Loves to be read to, especially if it has to do with dogs, trucks, or tractors

* Loves the outdoors - he would stay outside all day long if he could

* Loves the water, especially sprinklers

* Still only taking one nap in the afternoon

* Trying to climb on everything

* Opening every drawer and cabinet door and pulling everything out of them

* Saying banana, apple, ball, duck, bye-bye

* Loves to sit in his chair with his fishing pole in the drive way

* Started blowing kisses

On the Boardwalk

Sunday was Jayson's birthday, so we made reservations to stay the night at the Boardwalk Inn in Kemah. We left EC after church and stopped in Sugar Land for lunch at Jason's Deli, then headed to Kemah. Our plans were for Connor to nap on the way to Kemah, but that didn't happen. I knew once we got there, there would be no sleeping for him, because it was all new to look at.

Here was our view from our balcony. I took this Monday morning before leaving, so there are no people around because the park doesn't open until 10:30.

So once we check in, we headed down to the boardwalk and walked around. It was miserably HOT!!! After walking around and checking everything out, we headed to the string ray reef for a little AC relief.

Then we headed out to the water fountains thinking Connor would like to play in the water. Well he wanted you right with him and wouldn't let you put him down. He just laughed at the other kids and at daddy as he splashed them.

Around 5:00 we decided to go to the room and lay down with Connor hoping we would nap a little before going to dinner and riding rides. Well after 30 minutes of laying in bed with us and rolling around, he finally fell asleep, but only slept for 30 minutes. This boy is so afraid he is going to miss something. So we headed out and went to eat at the Flying Dutchman. We did decide to eat outside so we could watch the boats, but what were we thinking, it was so hot!

When I meet up with Jayson after the ride, Connor was out on his shoulder. We headed up to the room to give him a bath and put him to bed. Monday morning, Connor slept until 9:00 which never happens. We had breakfast and then checked out and headed to Sugar Land to do some shopping.

Pops bought Connor a huge duck for in the pool, so we had to try it out yesterday. Connor wasn't to into it though, he just wanted to splash. He will have many years to play and grow with that duck.

Friday we headed to the bay for another fun filled holiday weekend at the bay with the family. Connor and I went with Aunt Shay and the girls Friday morning while Jeff and Jayson came later when they got off work. Once we got there, we had lunch and then put the kiddos down for a nap. Then Dad, Mom, Shay and the kids went to the point for a while to look for shells and play in the sand. I stayed back because it looked a little rough for me to be out in a boat, but I enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness while everyone was gone. Once they got back, we headed over to Rob & Doris' for fajitas and a little engagement celebration for Jaime and Barrett.

Saturday morning, the guys went fishing and then came back and started bar-b-quing while the kids enjoyed playing in the pools.

Sunday after lunch we headed to the point again for the kids to play We were there for nearly 4 hours, but the kids did wonderful for being out for so long.

Connor went today to get another haircut and this time I told Nicole to cut it short because he sweats so bad on his head. I think he will be much cooler with this new look

Sunday night was the first night we made Connor go to bed without a paci. He cried for nearly 20 minutes, but then slept all night. I told Jayson that I felt like such a horrible parent for letting me sit there and cry, but I want to go ahead and get him off the paci before baby #2 comes along. Then Monday, I put him down for a nap without his paci and he cried/fussed for about 10 minutes. Then last night and todays nap he did not fuss or cry at all. The first day was the toughest to listen to him cry, but has improved every day. Hopefully I will be putting the paci away for good after this!!

17 Week Comparsion

I took my first belly picture with Connor at 17 weeks, so I took my first belly picture with baby #2 at 17 weeks also to compare. If I can correctly recall right, at 17 weeks with Connor is when my pants would no longer fit and I thought I was huge. I haven't been able to get into my pants with baby #2 for a few weeks now.

Anytime Connor sees Uncle Clint, he immediately goes for his police badge. I don't know what it is about the badge that fasicinates him, but he loves it. He wears it so proud and he wants to make sure everyone sees him with it.

What a weekend

Our weekend started on Thursday evening to celebrate Father's Day with my dad since he was working over the weekend and we were gone. Jayson grilled pork steaks for dinner and the kids enjoyed swimming and just hanging out with each other.

Then Friday for lunch we met up with Nanna and Pops in Columbus for Nanna's birthday while we were on our way to Austin for the weekend. We enjoyed a great lunch at Roosters! Then Jayson, Connor and I continued onto Austin. Once we got there, we checked into our hotel and then headed towards Round Rock for Connor's photo session with Cindy Speck. He did an awesome job, and from a few pictures she has posted, they are wonderful.

Then we headed back to the hotel to crash for the night. Saturday morning we got up, had breakfast and then headed to the pool so the kids could swim for a while. We were hoping to wear them out so they would take a nap before heading to the wedding.

After Connor and Caroline napped, we got dressed and headed to the wedding reception for Sarah Buss And Todd Clayton.

The reception was in an old rustic barn that was so neat and had so many photo opportunities, so of course we all took advantage of that.

The kids enjoyed blowing bubbles outside and this really kept them entertained!

Sunday morning we headed home to rest and then had Jayson's parents over that afternoon for steaks and to celebrate Father's Day.

We are Walking

That is right, Connor is now an official walker. He is one day shy of his 13 month birthday. It all started today in the blow up pool I had in the back yard. He was inside of it walking from one end to the other, just kind of hanging on, Then he walked the width of the pool all by himself, and of course I did not have a camera at the time. Then we came in for a snack and to cool off. He was being so silly and chasing Bella and then all of a sudden took off after her. I ran and grab the video and this is what I got. He is actually doing pretty good! Here is a clip of him in action.

14 weeks

Yesterday I had my 14 week appointment and was able to have an unltrasound done. First the doctor tried to find the heart beat, but couldn't, said that my heartbeat was over powering the baby's heart, so I was due for an ultrasound anyway, so she did one. She found the baby way low and he/she is already very active! The baby was stretching its arms above its head and kicking its feet out. We both just sat there watching it move all around. Once it tired out, the doctor really went into showing me all the body parts, except what could maybe be between the legs or not. We have to wait six more weeks before we find out the sex of baby #2 will be. We have no preference what what this one will be, it would be nice to have a girl, and it would be nice to just have another little boy. I think boys are a little easier, and since they will only be 19 months apart, it would be nice for them to both be boys. Whatever we have, we will be happy with! So I have added a poll of what fellow bloggers think we will have, so don't forget to cast your vote.

So onto Connor news.....

We still do not have a walker, although he is pretty much walking by himself, just holding onto one finger. I have let him go many of times to see if he will continue to walk on his own, and he sits down and throws a fit. His right front tooth has finally broke the skin, so we now have 3 teeth and #4 (left front tooth)is very close to breaking the skin. We have moved from two naps a day to one long nap after lunch. His nap usually last about 3 hours, so mom is able to get things done! Other than that, we have been busy playing outside lots!!

Graduation Weekend

Friday night we attended Clay's high school graduation. I figured that Jayson and I would not be to watch any of it, because we thought we would be chasing Connor around the bleachers. But he was actually content sitting in the stands looking at all the people and watching the balloons being released into the air. Here are a couple of pictures from graduation...

Saturday morning we got up, packed and then headed out to Vienna for a crawfish boil/graduation party. Connor had a great time playing in the water, boat riding, and just being outside all day long. We were also fortunate to visit with many family and friends and enjoy some great crawfish. (Sorry, but I slacked big time this weekend on pictures, so this is the only one we managed to get from the party)

He has been swimming, whether it is in his small blow up pool or the big pool, this boy loves the water. This was the first time we took Connor to an actual swimming pool and he loved it. I was worried what he would be like in the float, not being able to touch the ground, but he was a pro, paddling his feet. He is not afraid of water at all. He got brave and started putting his face in the water and just laughed about it. So this summer, we will be spending lots of time at Nanna and Pops swimming.

Memorial Day Weekend

We headed down to the bay Friday evening for a weekend full of fun, family, sun, and wind!!!! It was so windy that the canal even had white caps. We were only able to go out in the boat as long as you stayed in the canal. This year at the bay was so much easier with Connor versus last year when he was only a couple of months old and had to stay inside most of the time. He enjoyed just being outside and of course getting wet. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to so here is what I have...

Here is Savannah and Clay ready for the Prom. Savannah looked beautiful and Clay was handsome. We went to see them before they left and Connor just looked them up and down, like you are not the people I see everyday. They looked totally different to him all dressed up!

12 Month Stats

Connor went to his 12 month check-up on Wednesday and received 4 shots. He hated every moment of it. He just cried and cried before, during, and afterwards. Dr. M told us that we can now switch to whole milk instead of formula, but Connor is not too sure about the milk. The first day, he took it like a champ, but now, he will take a little sip, and that is it. He looks at you and makes a face like what is that? So I have been alternating between milk and formula until I run out of formula, then it is all milk for him.

One year ago today, Connor made his presence into this world. It was been such a great and rewarding year watching Connor go from a baby to a toddler in a blink of an eye. It is crazy how you can love someone so much, and how much of your time they take up, but we wouldn't have it any other way! We love him so much.

Connor celebrated his first birthday party with a train theme on Saturday. The guest enjoyed hot dogs and chopped beef with various chips and dip. The kids enjoyed the jump house and the train ride. I will let the pictures explain the rest...

Mmmm Spaghetti

So today we had spaghetti for dinner, and this was not Connor's first time to have this. So, I put spaghetti on his spoon and tried to feed him, and he just threw a fit, crying with real tears! He loves bread, so I tried to give some garlic bread and he didn't want that either, but was reaching for his plate like he wanted the spaghetti. Every time I would try to spoon feed him, he got louder and more tears came pouring out. Lately, he has been wanting to feed himself, so I put a little on his tray and that was the trick, no more throwing a fit, he wanted to feed himself the messy spaghetti. So we stripped him down to his diaper and he began stuffing his face, and we didn't hear a peep out of him as long as his tray had food on it.

Happy Mother's Day

This was my first year to actually celebrate Mother's Day, because last year, we were patiently awaiting Connor's big arrival. It was a wonderful Mother's Day weekend, Jayson kept Connor Saturday morning while I got a much needed pedi and attended Traci's baby shower. Then we headed over to the Little's that evening to celebrate Caroline's 2nd and Papi's(Mr. Little's) 60th birthdays. (sorry, but forgot camera)

Sunday morning, we attended church and then visited with Grandma Savino for a while. Then came home so Connor could nap, while we got things ready for a crawfish boil for both our families.

NaShay received a new beach cruiser bike (aka: grandma bike) for Mother's Day, so her and Juliann, rode their bikes to our house.

We had pools set up for the kids to play in and they had a great time!

Fun at the Fair

We headed out to fair this evening for some rides, animals, and of course a funnel cake! This was the first time for Connor to experience any kind of carnival/fair and he absolutely loved it. As we walked into the carnival, he just pointed at everything. I don't know if was all the movement or the bright colors.

Both Nanna and us have a picture of Connor on our end table in the living room. Nanna has taught Connor to "kiss the baby" (kissing his own picture). He loves to do this and when he kisses, it is a wide open mouth!

Speaking of baby.... I have been having a little sick feeling through out the day for the past 2 weeks. With Connor, I never had any sickness, so could this be telling me that maybe I am having a girl this time?

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend started on Friday when the Easter Bunny made his stop by our house and dropped off goodies for Connor.

After the Easter Bunny visit, we packed up and headed to Vienna for Easter with the Savino family. Here is Connor digging into more gifts from Nanna and Pops

Connor has started crawling on his hands and feet, like a monkey would do. Don't know if he didn't like the texture on his knees or this is the beginning of him standing up and walking??? I am so ready for him to start walking. His poor feet and knees are so scratched up from crawling on the concrete.

Sunday, we headed to my Aunt Phyllis & Uncle Mike's house in Vienna for Easter with my mom's sisters and the cousins. We enjoyed some awesome bar-b-q and visiting.

After we ate, Connor went down for a nap, so he missed the egg hunt and hay ride that the other enjoyed. When he did wake up, he had his own little egg hunt.
